Dining on the edge of the old ropewalks
Voyagers occupies the ground floor of The Halyard, the first Vignette Collection hotel in the UK, which opened in early 2024 on the corner of Duke Street and Parr Street.
The surrounding Ropewalks district takes its name from the rope-making for sailing ships that dominated the area until the 19th century. Ropemakers used long, thin strips of land, which is why the district has long, narrow streets. Neighbouring Duke Street was first set out in the 1720s as a street of merchants' houses and businesses.
