From car park to bowling club on Duke Street
PINS occupies a former indoor multi-storey car park on Duke Street, converted into a 16,000 sq ft social venue with twelve full-size bowling lanes over two floors. It was created by Daniel Gillbanks and David Scowcroft of D2 and opened in February 2020.
Duke Street was first set out in the 1720s and forms part of the Ropewalks, the district where rope for Liverpool's shipping was once made. Liverpool's first public library opened on the street in 1852, in the former Union News Room at No. 105.
