A Sardinian dinner table on the cobbles of Stanley Street
La Famiglia is a small, family-run bar and restaurant at the top of the cobbles of Stanley Street, in the Cavern Quarter. Its owners worked in Liverpool's Italian kitchens for years before opening their own place in 2020, and they cook the food of Sardinia and the Italian south rather than the standard menu.
That means dishes rarely seen in British restaurants: culurgiones, potato and pecorino ravioli in a simple tomato sauce, and seadas for dessert, alongside fresh pasta, pastries and cakes made on site every day. In the evening the aperitivo bar serves cocktails with Italian stuzzichini.
In 2024 the restaurant was named Best Restaurant in the North West at the Italian Awards.
